Case studies

We take the time to understand what business outcomes our clients need. We develop strategies and policies that suit you. No matter what the industry or size of your business is, we will build a bespoke package for you. Here are some examples of previous work, which highlights our adaptable approach:

Heat asked us to provide moderation for the comments section on the magazine’s website. As a celebrity gossip magazine, their concern was with users posting libellous comments, which could be published live on their website. This can result in large payouts for damages. Even more seriously, there was a danger of users publishing content that was in contempt of court. When moderating any client, we ensure that we remove anything that is potentially libellous or in contempt of court. Heat were on heightened alert when super injunctions had been uncovered, we worked closely with Heat to ensure that comments that potentially broke super injunctions were removed and that we could prevent the risk of future cases.

Redbubble, a global art gallery and store, needed a fresh approach to their Twitter content strategy. They wanted an image that was exciting, fun and hip (but that never used the word ‘hip’). We reviewed their Twitter output and gave it a complete repaint. We stopped the hard sell, and instead talked about the art and design world as it happened. We recommended opportunities and provided inspiration. We asked people to tweet us strange doodles. We provided humour and nonsense – a risk that paid off. All this resulted in a dramatic increase in audience interaction and website visits. In fact, in just the first four months, we increased the Twitter viral reach from 84,000 to 360,000. As a consequence, traffic to the website increased from 30,000 per month to 75,000 per month in that time, which created increased sales. Yes, less selling resulted in more sales!

Child internet safety is a priority of ours and we are completely committed to ensuring children and vulnerable people are not at risk online. A government department asked us to provide moderation services that not only protected children from the dangers of online abuse, but that also raised issues that children could be having in their real lives. This is not always obvious and requires ‘reading between the lines’. Thanks to our vast experience of working in chatrooms for young people, we were able to recognise and highlight a large amount of issues from children so that the client were able to intervene and help them.

Ladera Ranch is a gated community in America. We provided a low cost community management contract to ensure that the people that lived there were able to talk with each other in a friendly environment. One of the client’s concerns was that a their message board for selling second hand items could lead to misuse of personal details. We ensured that no personal details were published online and that users were informed of why any deleted messages had been removed. This was a very small contract that many moderation companies will not adapt their pricing for – if you are concerned about your online presence but you don’t have a large budget, get in touch and we’ll find an affordable solution that works for you.

Our team have worked with the BBC, Orange, ITV, GSK, Golin, Kimberly-Clark, Them London, TfL, Diageo and many more.
